Fall Day Retreat: Hike, Soak, Dine!

Aw, yeah! Take time to unwind and enjoy the fall- come connect with your higher self and be with your introspective nature. Treat yourself to this event that combines all the best things in life - yoga, hiking in the fall woods, soaking in a hot tub, and eating! We start in the woods of Barnard, where we’ll do yoga with trees, rocks, and logs on the season’s final Yoga Hike. Be present for the end of foliage and get incredible views of Mt. Ascutney - and know that there will be no interruptions, as we’ll be on our private land.

Afterward, the pampering begins! We’ll soak outdoors in our freshwater salt hot tub that feels so good in the crisp fall air. Relax and connect with your fellow retreatants. When we’re finished soaking, we’ll dine on a delicious gourmet vegetarian lunch, made with locally-grown ingredients with the intention of nourishing you, body and soul.

Experience the release and the bliss of this tradition for yourself during this half-day retreat where we’ll focus on claiming our power through movement and sound. Earth Wisdom Gathering: Dowsing, Labyrinths, and You

This very special event is for all people interested in deepening their connection with the earth and themselves.  Join Labyrinth and Dowsing expert Marty Cain for a day of learning how to douse and the myriad uses of dowsing; how to use labyrinths; how to understand and measure auras, our personal energy fields; and how to communicate directly with your Higher Self.  You will get hands-on experience with dowsing rods, view a slide show of labyrinths, walk a labyrinth, and gather with like-minded friends.  We'll also do some light stretching to start the day, and lunch will be served.

Open Hips, Radiant Heart! - A Day Retreat

Close out summer with a day for yourself to heal, explore, and enjoy!  We'll begin at the Camp Plymouth State Park in Ludlow, VT with a Yoga Hike, an invigorating moving meditation led by Miss Amanda that uses the natural features of the forest to help us loosen our hips through various yoga poses.  After our outdoor savasana, we'll drive to Plymouth to reward ourselves with a gourmet vegetarian lunch at Good Commons, a sweet, homey retreat center dedicated to the mission of providing calm, healing space.  

For the afternoon session at Good Commons, energy awareness teacher Beth Pollari will lead us in a practice that strengthens our connection to the heart. Through awareness, breath, intention and movement we will connect to this radiant energy center. This practice has a myriad of benefits including strengthening the immune system, releasing stress and improving the heart and mind connection.  Beth will then open the circle to a shamanic journey led by drums. This ancient practice helps allow a greater view of our energetic reality, gain wisdom and heal and balance our bodies. 

Then it's hot tub time!  Finish the day with a long soak in the Good Commons hot tub and feel grateful for being alive!

Change your mind on this tranquil, informative retreat with visiting mindfulness meditation teacher Gena Adams-Riley and Miss Amanda.  Together, we will be guiding you through a day of yoga, hiking, mindfulness meditation, discussion, and a fantastic communal lunch. We will practice mindfulness in various settings: not only on the cushion, but in the woods, on the mat, and even in the hot tub!  

Gena is eager to share her knowledge of Contemplative Neuroscience, research-based science which clearly demonstrates that mindfulness practices such as yoga and mindfulness meditation have positive, profound, and scientifically-measurable effects on the brain.  These changes in your brain contribute to a happy, healthy, long life.  Learn to do these practices with Gena, a mindfulness mediation teacher with almost 20 years of experience.

Indian Summer: A Bhakti Yoga Getaway

Travel to India and experience its magic without leaving Vermont!  Join Miss Amanda as she shares her love of Mother India, home of yoga, for a masala-spiced day at Good Commons in Plymouth, Vermont.  

We'll begin with a Mystical Yoga Hike where we will incorporate self-reflection and chanting into a moving yoga class at the Camp Plymouth State Park.  Afterward, we'll reconvene at Good Commons for their famous vegetarian lunch.  Then, sip on Miss Amanda's homemade chai tea during her multi-media tour of India with sounds and images from her three trips to the other side of the world.  We'll relax with a soak in the new hot tub, then find the Divine in ourselves with a kirtan --devotional chanting session-- as a way to practice bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion.  We'll also have a mehindi party where we'll give each other temporary tattoos:
