Fall Yoga Walk: A Meditative Tour of VINS

Our summer Yoga Walk at VINS was so fun, we’re doing it again, this time in the splendor of New England in the fall! This special event will take place before VINS opens to the public, so you get a sneak peek at the birds, the grounds, and the foliage before the tourists file in. If you’ve never done “bird yoga,” this is your big change - YES, we do yoga with the raptors!

To sign up and get more information, please visit the VINS website by clicking below.

Yoga Walk at VINS: A Meditative Tour

Experience the VINS Nature Center through the lens of yoga. During this meditative event, participants will stroll mindfully through the grounds, pausing to do simple yoga poses in the woods, by the water, and on the Forest Canopy Walk. Most of this workshop will be spent in silence. Enjoy being quiet and present among the sounds of morning birds as you experience the Nature Center before the grounds are open to the public. I’ll weave in yogic mythology as well as mindfulness techniques and accessible yoga poses throughout this event, and this workshop will culminate with an unforgettable Forest Canopy relaxation.

All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Wear clothes to stretch in, shoes for walking, and bring a mat, blanket, or towel to carry along for the final relaxation.  Rain date will be the following Sunday, 7/24.  Space is limited, so register now by going to the link below.

Mindful River Walk

Need to slow down and just be? Join us as we simmer in the fresh springtime energy for an easy-level meditative walk along the Ottauquechee River. We’ll be on “Diane’s River Path,” part of the sacred land at Mission Farm, just south of Killington. This event will allow you to sink into awareness practices to help you remember the connection between your body and the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. These practices include bodily movements, accessible yoga poses, breath work, and sounding.

This all-inclusive event welcomes newcomers to yoga and mindfulness practices, and will allow more experienced practitioners the chance to go deeper within themselves. Mission Farm is a local nonprofit dedicated to love and the land by understanding the interconnection of all things and the value of biodiversity. This 180-acre land includes gardens for the Abenaki Land Link project, hiking trails, and the historic Church of Our Savior.

Space is limited, so please save your spot by registering early. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to support Mission Farm. To register, go to the link below.

Garden Yoga: A Meditative Walk

  • Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Summertime means flowers, sunshine, and yoga - all to be found on this FREE Meditative Yoga Walk at Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish, New Hampshire, where the gardens are sure to impress! Join this popular annual event, which is for all levels.

We'll explore one of our area's many treasures - the home and gardens of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, one of our most revered sculptors.  His work, along with Mount Ascutney, provide a serene background for us as we practice gentle yoga poses, focus on our breath, and amble through the flower gardens and the bowling green. This event will include a quarter-mile hike along the park's Ravine Trail which has a short steep descent down to a quiet brookside path, and an ascent back up to the grounds to view Saint-Gaudens' striking temple.

Sponsored by the National Park Service, this FREE yoga event is geared towards those who want a slower, more meditative experience.   The optional yoga poses will be at a beginner/easy level.  Registration is not required; simply meet us in the park's main parking lot at 10:15 by the kiosk. If you haven't visited this gorgeous site yet, no more excuses!

Community Yoga Walk in East Barnard

If you've never been to East Barnard, come visit the quietest, most loving community in these Green Mountains.  And, if you have been to East Barnard, you will know not to miss this special opportunity to practice yoga with the good folks of the East Barnard Church. We'll meet in front of the church at 10:45 and walk across the street to the Corbett family land. However, you are welcome to join me at 9:30 for the ecumenical church service with a nature-focused theme, or stop by after the service 10:30 for a cup of coffee before the hike.

On the stunning Corbett property, we will do yoga poses in the pine grove, on the shore of the pond, and at the crossroads of two branches of Broad Brook.  This meditative walk on flat terrain is for all levels of physical fitness, and yoga poses are optional.  Sponsored by the East Barnard church, this is a completely FREE event for the community and a great way to get to know good people.

No need to pre-register, but contact me if you have questions.

Life in the Village

I am honored to be slowing it down and leading a more mellow "Yoga Walk" for the good folks of the East Barnard Church.  East Barnard was my first home in this great state, and I cannot imagine a more peaceful, welcoming place to live.  For this walk, we will be connecting with the elements as we explore private land within walking distance of the church after the service concludes at 10:30 am.  Either join for the nature-themed, nondenominational service at 9:30 am, or just come afterward for the walk!

Donations will be accepted for this hike and given to the East Barnard Church who is graciously funding this event.  This is the perfect opportunity to share yoga with elders and others looking for a more gentle meditative experience.
