Get Gonged! Kundalini Yoga with Gong Meditation

Join us for this very special Thursday in Randolph. At the end of class, Tony Bednar will be conducting a healing sound meditation through the sounds of his gong. The gong promotes deep relaxation, unblocks latent emotions, stimulates the glands, and provides a deep sense of peace. The vibrations and sound of the gong will provide you with an “instant meditation” as you unwind from the yoga practice. If you have trouble meditating, this experience is for you!

Although the class meets weekly, the gong is a special treat, so mark your calendar to join us! We will begin class with a gentle warm-up, followed by a set to balance the upward- and downward-flowing energies of the body at the navel center and then move it to the heart. The set ends with a sweet heart meditation which promotes healing energy in the hands and will elevate your mood!

Try something new at True Center Yoga's Sampler Saturday, where both I and the other new teacher, Ashley Outlaw, will be offering 40-minute samples of our class style.  I'll start class with a short Kundalini Yoga set to give you a taste of this dynamic, transformative practice, and then Ashley will start her set with a taste of yin, a passive style of yoga where you hold poses for a longer period of time to stretch connective tissues, and end with a taste of hatha, a slow paced style of yoga that builds flexibility as well as strength.  

This class is by donation and for all levels of yoga experience, so all can participate!  Yoga mats and props are available at the studio.  No need to register, just show up 10-15 minutes before class to check in and get ready for your practice.  This is a one-time offering, so be sure to mark your calendar.  See you there!

Pranayama: Get High Off Your Breath!

Explore the power of your breath to change your mood at this FREE offering at the "Creative Commons" of Feast & Field Market in Barnard, VT.  Up on the high point overlooking the vegetable fields, we'll sit in a circle and practice various sorts of pranayama, which are exercises to change the body's energy.  You'll learn several easy breath techniques that will exhilarate you as well as give you mental clarity, increased energy, mental balance, and even cool you down.

The transformative power of Kundalini Yoga is too magical to keep to myself, so I will be sharing information and an experience of this tool for change as one of the presenters at Summerfest.  This FREE local event is for Upper Valley healers and teachers to connect and join forces for good.  It's hosted by the Center for Transformational Practice, whose mission is to support the transition to a just and sustainable culture by advancing inner transformation as the foundation for positive social change.  With such a stirring mission, how could I resist?

40 Days of Yoga (In a Row!)

In the Kundalini yoga tradition, we are encouraged to practice the same sequence or meditation for at least 40 consecutive days to change a habit and create space for positive energy to enter our awareness.  After 99 days of doing the same mediation every day (my first round, I got up to 102), I can assure you that it works.  The sequence that I do has become a good friend and consistent ally to me, even - especially - on the days I don't want to do it.  Because I do it anyway.  

What would it be like to practice every day?  How would it change you?  If you have the desire to know more about yourself and what you can do, join me for daily practice starting on January 1 for a totally FREE independent study with support.
